Damnesty: ...Atleast we tried
26/09/12 || gk
Damnesty claim to be like a mix of Alice in Chains and Sepultura circa 1994. Yeah, I can’t begin to imagine a mash up of “Chaos A.D.” and the “Jar of flies EP”. Luckily, the comparison is just some more silly hyperbole and what we actually get is some groove metal that could have been recorded in the mid to late 90’s. Damnesty isn’t bad at all and starts quite strongly with the first couple of songs. After that though, the songs start to sound alike and the album starts to get a bit boring. Anybody remember UK’s Dearly Beheaded? Damnesty remind me a lot of those guys. Passable groove metal which is good for a couple of listens but doesn’t really have the legs to last the distance.
6/10: Its all competent but unremarkable stuff.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
